There’s no other event quite like Birdman.

Not only is it a wacky flying contest, giving the unique spectacle of amateur aviators plunging into the sea, it is also a whole day of FREE festival fun.

Birdman is a vital day for Ilfracombe. It is the busiest day in the town’s calendar, providing huge economic benefits to local traders. The event also attracts nationwide publicity and markets Ilfracombe as a beautiful holiday location. Finally, because entry is FREE, it is totally accessible to everyone.

Not much is free these days, but we believe everyone deserves to enjoy Birdman, complete with the whole day of live music.
